The BRT network consists of 183 buses running on a dedicated 20-kilometers track. It includes two major terminal stations (Zarqa and Al Mahatta) and four intermediate stations (Marka, Polytinic, Rusaifa, and Military College). The buses, operating at high frequencies and reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h, can accommodate over 120 passengers per trip.

The project involves extensive road expansion and reconstruction, ensuring at least three lanes in each direction, with two central lanes exclusively for BRT buses. It also includes constructing new bridges and tunnels, improving intersection service levels, and installing pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, rainwater drainage, sewage systems, lighting, traffic safety measures, and necessary diversions. Additionally, various infrastructure obstacles, such as water, communication, and electricity lines, are being relocated, all in adherence to the highest international engineering standards.

The BRT line utilizes real-time data to optimize routes, reduce waiting times, and enhance service quality. This advanced technology enables dynamic route adjustments based on traffic conditions and passenger flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience for all passengers.

The system serves the residents of Amman and Zarqa, as well as university students, by offering a safe, comfortable, and reliable daily transportation service while also creating job opportunities for local citizens. It will help reduce congestion on the highway connecting the two cities and will cut travel time from approximately 40 minutes to 20-25 minutes.

The project is initiated by the Ministry of Transport. It is currently under implementation under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. The BRT route and intersections were designed by Mostaqbal Engineering and Environmental Consultants, and executed by Haddadinco company.
The project cost is over $300 million, funded by the Ministry of Transport , the Social Security Investment Fund , and the Kuwait Development Fund. The trial operation of the BRT commenced in May 2024.
