The Bahrain International Investment Park aims to foster industrial diversification and boost export growth by providing a cost-effective,10 export-driven environment.11 It supports businesses through advanced infrastructure, streamlined business licensing and favorable tax policies. Strategically located near Bahrain International Airport, BIIP enhances access to reginal and global markets12 while operating under a non-free zone model to avoid typical export duties.13
Spanning 3 million square meters, BIIP offers serviced industrial land, pre-built industrial units,14 and office spaces,15 expanding high-tech industries, manufacturing, and logistics.16 Facilities include training centers and modern infrastructure.17
BIIP also promotes sustainability with energy-efficient infrastructure and systems.18 Beneficiaries include international and regional businesses,19 as well as the workforce of skilled Bahraini and expatriate workers.20 Local communities benefit from job creation, skill development, and economic growth, while investors gain from tax incentives, infrastructure, and a business-friendly environment.21

Key stakeholders include the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), which promotes the park,22 and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, which regulates it.23 The International Development Ireland (IDI) manages and markets the park.24
BIIP has been operational since 2005,25 with ongoing development aligned with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.26 The park continues to expand, with future phases planned to accommodate increasing demand. BIIP’s success is driven by its ability to attract international investors, offering a zero-tax regime, 100% foreign ownership, and access to skilled labor.27 28
