AUDI is a partner in the first sessions of the Arab Academy for Mayors and Municipal Leaders.
AUDI participated in the inaugural sessions of the Arab Academy for Municipal officials in its first edition in 2024, held in Beirut on 17 and 18 Muharram 1446 AH, corresponding to July 23 and 24, 2024. The event was organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA) in partnership with AUDI and other regional and international organizations such as the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), and United Cities and Local Governments – Middle East and West Asia (UCLG-MEWA), among others. Officials from Arab cities, including Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco, attended the first session of the academy.
Through its participation, AUDI aims to enhance cooperation and joint efforts among international and regional organizations, contribute to the development of municipal policies and strategies, and facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge among Arab cities’ leaders.
During its participation, AUDI also held numerous meetings with global organizations and networks to coordinate joint initiatives and projects aimed at developing cities and enhancing the capabilities of Arab municipalities.
