The Arab Urban Development Institute receives the Director General of the Municipal Department and Planning of Ajman and the accompanying delegation

At its headquarters in Riyadh,The Arab Urban Development Institute received a delegation from the Department of Municipality and Planning of Ajman headed by H.E. Professor Abdul Rahman Al-Nuaimi, Director General of the Department and member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Ajman, accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al med Al-Muhairi, Executive Director of the Department’s Infrastructure Development Sector.

During the meeting, H.E. the Director-General of the Institute, Dr. Anas Al-Mughairi, reviewed the programmes and projects implemented by the Institute and its role in the transfer of expertise and capacity-building of municipal and development bodies in the region. The importance of strengthening cooperation between the parties to achieve sustainable urban development goals was also highlighted.

The two sides discussed a number of future areas of cooperation, notably the design of training programmes tailored to the needs of the Ajman Municipal Department of Planning, and the facilitation of information exchange between the Institute, cities and municipalities in the United Arab Emirates, to ensure the promotion of regional integration in urban development.

It was also agreed that the Institute’s participation in the Ajman Forum for Urban Development and Planning would provide an opportunity to exchange ideas and insights on best practices in development and planning. In addition, emphasis was placed on drawing on the experience of the Institute’s staff in studying and specializing in licenses for activities and holding specialized dialogue tables to develop policies in this area.

At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. Professor Abdel Rahman Al-Nuaimi expressed appreciation for the Institute’s efforts in supporting Arab municipalities and cities, stressing the importance of this partnership in the interest of both parties.
