The Arab Urban Development Institute organizes the first periodic meeting of liaison and partnership officials in Arab cities.
The meeting featured a discussion of several main themes, including an overview of the Institute’s programs and initiatives. Additionally, it addressed the roles of municipal representatives in providing the Institute with information and effective communication. Furthermore, the meeting reviewed and discussed the opportunities for cooperation with international organizations and development funds, asserting the Institute’s role in promoting such partnerships to benefit member cities.
The meeting was opened by H.E. the Director General of the Institute, who conveyed the greetings of His Highness the President of the Institute and Mayor of the Riyadh Region, praising the vision of the Institute’s orientation towards transferring experiences between cities and municipalities and building a unified Arab agenda that promotes regional cooperation.
The Director General of the Institute highlighted the Institute’s strategy for 2025, outlining the course of future partnerships and their importance in achieving common development goals. He also stressed the importance of periodic meetings to enhance understanding of Arab cities’ needs and the role of the Institute in providing optimal support to them.
During the meeting, the Director General of the Institute heard the liaison officers’ observations and suggestions, emphasizing the follow-up to future developments, thereby contributing to sustainable urban development. At the closing of the meeting, participants stressed the importance of the continuity of these meetings, as they play a pivotal role in promoting integration and cooperation among Arab cities and supporting sustainable development efforts in the region.
