Monday, April 28, 2025
As part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support for regional and international organizations, the Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI) has embarked on a new chapter by signing a headquarters agreement with the Saudi government. This milestone represents a key element of the broad transformation strategy led by the Institute’s President, His Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Ayyaf.
The signing ceremony took place on Monday, April 28, 2025, coinciding with Shawwal 30, 1446 Hijri, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral International Affairs and Supervisor General of the Public Diplomacy Agency, H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, signed the headquarters agreement on behalf of the ministry, while it was signed on behalf of AUDI by its Director General, H.E. Dr. Anas Al-Mughairy.
This agreement underscores Saudi Arabia’s influential role in both regional and global contexts, as well as its dedication to advancing urban development in Arab cities. It also reaffirms the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting member states by fostering innovative urban policies, enhancing institutional capacity, developing municipal leaders’ skills, and increasing cities’ international visibility through a more active role in urban diplomacy.
