The Arab Urban Development Institute receives the Director General of Doha Municipality and the accompanying delegation
The meeting included extensive discussions on ways to strengthen cooperation between the Institute and the Municipality of Doha, with a view to achieving sustainable urban development and promoting the exchange of experiences between the two institutions. During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of benefiting from the Institute’s reports on municipal best practices, which are an important reference for developing municipal performance and improving services in Arab cities.
Training and institutional development programmes have also been carried out in the municipality of Doha, thereby enhancing the efficiency of human resources and strengthening the municipality’s institutional capacities. The two sides stressed the need to expand cooperation by building strategic partnerships with global institutions and cities, providing opportunities to share successful experiences and experiences in urban governance.
For his part, Mr. Mansour Al-Bouainen expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Arab Institute for City Development in supporting Arab municipalities and developing their capacities. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Municipality of Doha to strengthen cooperation with the Institute to achieve sustainable development goals.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work and develop practical mechanisms for the implementation of joint programmes and projects, reflecting positively on urban development in Doha and Arab cities in general.
