Guest: H.E. Mr. Abdullahi Ali Watiin

Mayor of Baidoa, Somalia, Mr. Abdullahi Ali Watiin has 15 years of experience in leadership, development planning, local government planning, and peacebuilding and conflict resolution. He has led comprehensive reforms in the Baidoa local government and council, making his mark on improving local conditions. Between 2019 and 2020, he served as Head of the Directorate of Durable solutions under the Ministry of Planning, South West state. He has also worked with the Somali Ministry of Finance and the United Nations Mine Action Services (UNMAS). He holds a postgraduate degree in Politics of conflict and violence from the University of Leicester, reflecting his deep interest in development administration and local development.
