Greater Amman Municipality (GAM)

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) is responsible for providing public and municipal services to over 4 million residents of Jordan’s capital, Amman. As a civil society institution with legal personality and financial and administrative independence, GAM covers an area of 800 km² and is managed by the Municipal Council. Due to its large area and population, GAM’s functions are divided into six sectors and 22 administrative areas to ensure efficient service delivery. The Municipality offers 134 services to various segments of society, ministries, official institutions, and public and private companies. Additionally, GAM provides 78 internal services among its departments to support their roles and ensure effective operation.
