Dr.ANAS ALMUGHAIRY
Director General
Dr. Anas is an urban policy expert, coach, and leader with over 18 years of experience, during which he has worked for multiple private, public, and international organizations. Prior to joining AUDI in 2022, he managed the establishment of Aseer Development Authority and its regional development strategy, while serving as an advisor to the Regional Authority Support Center. In 2018, Dr. Anas led the efforts to design and manage the first executive program to train municipal leaders in a joint venture between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and King Saud University. Dr. Anas has published multiple research and working papers in the domains of municipal institutional development, regional development strategy, and urban planning. He holds a doctorate in Metropolitan planning and Governance from the University of Calgary.

Dr. Montaser Hiyari
Director of the Capacity Development and Training
An architect and urban planner. Ph.D holder in spatial planning from the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany. Worked as a project manager for urban planning and urban design projects in many countries. Provided consultancy in capacity building for international organizations working in urban and regional development. Dr. Hiyari contributed to the development of urban policies and framework in many countries.

Dr. Ziad Ahmad Alameddine
Program Director
Architect, Urban Designer, and Urban Planner. Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in the United Kingdom, (MRTPI) since 2016 until now.
He holds a PhD in Urban Design, a Master’s in Urban Design and Regional Planning from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and a Bachelor's in Architecture from King Saud University.
He has over 26 years of academic experience, having previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Urban Planning and Design at the College of Architecture and Planning, King Saud University. He has several published research papers and translated books, most notably “Land Development.”
He has delivered many training courses to develop the capabilities and skills of municipal and secretariat employees in the fields of humanizing cities and improving the urban landscape at the level of Saudi cities.
He has supervised many international training programs directed at Saudi city's municipal leaders in the United States, the Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden.
Dr. Hassan Elmouelhi
Projects Manager
An architect, urban planner, urban development expert and educator. Currently, he leads the “Urban Living Lab” at the Arab Urban Development Institute-AUDI, with the project: Green activities in some Arab cities- participatory greening for Neighborhoods in Arab Cities (Tunis, Amman, Port said). He earned his PhD from the chair of international urbanism and design - Habitat Unit, Berlin Technical University in 2014. He has since worked as a senior researcher, senior lecturer and projects manager in Urban Development and International Urbanism departments at TU Berlin. His research focuses on urban informality, public space, urban and land governance, and urban development in the Europe and Arab/MENA region. He has collaborated with academic institutions and organizations like UN Habitat and GIZ on interdisciplinary projects, covering climate change adaptation, urban heritage, disaster risk management, and refugees. He acted as consultant on international projects in Egypt, Germany, KSA, Tunisia, Jordan, and beyond, and co-authored the 2022 "State of Arab Cities Report" for UN Habitat and “State of Affordable Housing in Egypt 2024” for Habitat for Humanity-MENA. He has published several book chapters and scientific articles in international peer reviewed journals.
Mohammad Ibrahim Alkhurayif
Urban Expert in Cities Development
An Architect holds a master’s degree in urban design from King Saud University, in addition to various certifications in the fields of urban planning, urban leadership, municipal development, and capacity building. He has worked for over 30 years in the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs of Saudi Arabia. Among the most important positions entrusted to him were the mayoral roles in Wadi Dawasir and Al-Kharj provinces, as well as the deputy roles for municipalities in the Riyadh Region's Secretariat. Currently, he works as a senior city planning advisor in the office of His Highness of Riyadh’s Region, and he has represented Riyadh municipality in various local and international conferences. Recently, Mr Mohammad has been working as an urban expert in Arab city development at the Arab Urban Development Institute.
Mishel Ijaz
Project Coordinator in Urban Policy
An architect and urban planner holds a Bachelors of Architecture from the National College of Arts, Pakistan and a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. She has prior experience in academia as an Assistant Professor, and in the private sector as a City Planner, where she has worked on urban design interventions and master plans for cities in the north of Pakistan.
Abdel Rahman Al Zoubi
Project Coordinator in Urban Policy
An Architect and Urban Planner, holds a dual master’s degree in international Cooperation in Urban Development from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany and Sustainable Emergency Architecture from International University of Catalonia, Spain. His years of work experience in international organizations and UN agencies addresses sustainable development, international cooperation and humanitarian Shelter and Settlements.

Holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from King Saud University, and a Master of Arts in Education from the Arab East Colleges. She is an accredited expert in designing quality programs and project performance indicators. She worked on a research study with King Abdullah International Center for Medical Research and developed the work under the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Development.

Her educational background includes a Master's degree in International Relations from the Barcelona Institute for International Studies (IBEI) and a second Master's Degree in Contemporary Arabic Studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
